It won’t be long before daily specials at Café Sapori—the lair of co-owners Francesco Blanco and Chef Fabrizio Giorgi, both Palm Beach alums since their pre-2007 front-and-back-of-the-house days at Bice—will include a $1,000 shopping spree at Palm Beach’s Juicy Couture and a getaway at The Breakers.
The $500 gift card to Worth Avenue’s Hamilton’s Jewelers sounds good, too.
Thousands of dollars worth of desirable merchandise will be up for auction at Café Sapori as part of an Aug. 15 fundraiser for West Palm Beach’s Fisher House, a Veterans Affairs Medical Center-based home away from home for families of military vets hospitalized for an illness or injury.
The West Palm Beach Friends of Fisher House organization is hosting the 6-8 p.m. event—complete with live music by Jazz in Six—at Café Sapori, located near the west foot of the Intracoastal-spanning Southern Boulevard bridge.
Among other items available during the eve’s silent and Chinese auctions: a leather wallet from Ferragamo, a silk scarf from Emilio Pucci, a silver-lacquered frame from Christophle, and gifts from Island Company, Stubbs & Wootton, Alex and Ani, Mary Mahoney, Vilebrequin and Bice. A handful of artists have donated original works of art for the auctions, too.
Admission: a $20 minimum donation, a helping-hand gesture that also yields a complimentary cocktail, hors d’oeuvres and a swag bag courtesy of Frederic Fekkai Salon and Spa.
Café Sapori will donate 10 percent of the proceeds to Fisher House in connection with guests who stay for dinner after the event. In addition to its regular menu, Café Sapori has a three-course prix-fixe deal for summer for $28.99 a person.
